Representative Payee Services

Community Connections Partnership has been approved by the Social Security Administration to be a Representative Payee Fee for Service Provider. With this designation, we are able to act as a Representative Payee for individuals who receive social security income and need assistance with their financial responsibilities.

WHAT A REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE DOES

As Representative Payee, Community Connections Partnership receives monthly payments from the Social Security Administration on behalf of the people that we represent. The benefits received are then used to pay for rent, utilities, food and other basic needs. Money that is not used for current needs is saved for the client. For those whom we serve as representative payee, this service may include some or all of the following functions:
  • Paying food/shelter and personal needs
  • Filing required reports to Social Security Administration with supporting documentation
  • Providing copies of reports to beneficiaries and if requested in writing, to family members, case managers, and legal guardians
  • Detailed records of all transactions and completion of all government required paperwork will be maintained for our clients.
Please note, a Representative Payee is not responsible for applying for, or ensuring continuing service eligibility for Medical Assistance, waiver services, or any other services not associated with the Social Security Administration.

STEPS IN THE PROCESS

If you are interested in our representative payee services we will ask you to complete an intake application. Once we receive and review the completed application we will file an application with Social Security to be your Representative Payee. Social Security then reviews the application and if approved will send us a letter with the date of when we will start receiving benefits. Benefits will then be used to pay for living expenses as agreed upon.

FEE: A monthly fee is charged based on guidelines provided by the Social Security Administration and may be adjusted at the beginning of each year.
